Edit at will!

Steven Skoczen wrote this Jan. 2, 2009 for SixLinks Developers .
Another day draws to a close in oddly-weathered portland (I watched it rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail, and be sunny within 45 minutes), and it's been really cool to see people using, trying things, and making the site velveteen-rabbit Real.

One thing that's been a point of confusion for a few people (including jeff and I, actually) was the editing policies over at the content wiki. So, we hashed those out. In short, please edit at will.

There's exceptions if you're changing something controversial, or you make a change that's reverted - in those cases please use the discussion tab to talk through the changes and reach consensus.

But on the whole, feel free to roam the content wiki, improving and making-awesome the content.

There's an editing guide now to help you know what we're looking for (simple, complete, 3-5 paragraph pages), and if you have any questions, let Jeff or I know!

If you're bored and thoughtful, you can also help us make guide difficulties better.

Also, the alpha testers team is so cool that I kinda want to quit working on the site and join them. I'm just saying.

Actually, instead of asking us, first ask this guy. No, seriously. It's the best explanation of RSS ever.

And if you liked that, you'll love his explanation of light bulbs

You know, I've been wondering what the fuck RSS was. PERFECT explanation, thank you!

However, when I try to add a subscription for the Content wiki, not working. You guys got a link that works?
Steven Skoczen Jan. 3, 2009
If that doesn't work, let me know - it's likely because logins are required to see the RSS feed. I can change that if needed!
Steven Skoczen Jan. 3, 2009
I've actually changed that now. Let me know if RSS isn't working for you!

(And once you get hooked, yes, we'll have RSS for SixLinks. And it will warm your soul)

I'd also like to point out that as you start editing things, it might be a good idea to RSS the content wiki, if you don't know how, ask one of us. Also, it means that you should be looking at the content on the content wiki rather than the site as you make your comments. When enough changes are made to pages, we will put them live.
