One day left, and the combing of silliness

Steven Skoczen wrote this Dec. 30, 2008.
Lots of bugfixes (20+, I think) today, little enhancements, and the pulling of some old cruft data.

I have to be honest, removing Tomo's fake "put shading on your house" guide made me a bit sad. I've been working with that guide for the last few months, and it's been like an old friend.

Now tomo's starting all over again, about to make new friends, and take on new challenges in his life.

Much <3 to the momos.

Jeff and I also met today, for the last time before launch. It's really amazing to think of where we are, coming from a list Wei made me write, then some gimme coffee, then some Stella's coffee.

When Jeff and I met that last time in Stella's (the four-paper time), we said to each other that if we managed to pull off what we were aiming for, it'd be massive, and amazing.

And now here we are, six months later, with a site that's not everything it will become, but whose core is solid. We have a tremendous amount of content, and solid features for getting things done. We have good ways for our community to interact with each other.

What's exciting to me, is that while the current site is pretty darn cool, I know what's coming. I know the new stuff it'll let people do, see, and find. The new ways of interacting with each other.

And even cooler than that, is that I don't know some of what the site will do. That's up to all of you alpha (and later beta) testers. I look forward to see the amazing things I couldn't dream up, and how they can make the world a better place.

I told all my graduating friends, "do good things". Now's the time. :)
