How we get there
We need to take advantage of some of the sunlight that hits the Earth every day. The biggest thing to do is to install a solar thermal system on your home, pretty much regardless of your climate. You can use the tool below (coming soon!) to see how much energy and money you will be saving. If you own your home, there is no reason to not have one of these systems installed.

The other big thing that you can do is to demand that your utilities begin looking into solar power, especially if you are in an area of the world that receives a lot of sunlight. While photovoltaic systems on your house are nice, it's even nicer if the whole town is getting its power from renewable sources. You should also be reading up on the
Smart Grid and
Storage sections that will give you some more information on how energy from a source like solar that varies over the course of a day can be incorporated into our electrical grid.

icon pasture. (Actually, Jeff just agreed to this to keep Steve sane.)
