Scientists all across the country (and world) know the right questions to ask to study trends in animal population and ecology, but there's one major hurdle that they face in answering such broad and over-reaching hypotheses: they can't be everywhere collecting data all the time. Citizen science has grown to be the solution--if scientists can make data gathering simple and straight-foward, then anyone can do it! In fact, organizations such as the Cornell Lab of Ornithology have entire research departments devoted to running projects where YOU can collect the animal data their scientists need to study the BIG picture.
