It's important that you understand why we are stressing the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and trying to avert climate change. While it's important that you do things to help this cause, we'd like you to know why we're asking you to do it as well.
Steps:
1
Read the resources we provide
Check out the
Climate Change section of this website and learn about what it is, why it's important, where we are, where we need to be, how we get there, and where we've been.
2
Expand your knowledge
If you have questions about something, pose them on the
FAQ section or bring it up in a discussion (or even better, both!). If you understand everything we've written, try to find some other resources to familiarize yourself with. The IPCC report is not a bad thing to take a look at. There is always new research on this stuff, so there is sure to be something for you to learn (we know we are constantly learning new things). You can also keep up on the Climate Change news section.
3
Tell someone about it
The key whether or not you have a good understanding of this stuff is whether or not you feel like you can explain it to someone else. So give it a try. It's good for others to hear what you've learned and it'll give you confidence in your new knowledge.
