How am I ever going to get to the hardware store...

...if it keeps snowing in Portland? Honestly, now! ;) I'm hoping to get a better lightbulb for the lamp in my room for now. Does anyone know of one that provides natural-looking light in addition to being more efficient?

Actually, they make natural-light-balanced CF (compact florescents) and LED bulbs now.

Both are a bit more expensive, but will last *forever*, and you can take them with you when you move.


On a side note, what's it mean for us as a culture when light bulbs become significant enough investments to be worth moving?

Good point. Although if it means saving some cash when you do get to your new place, I think light bulbs are a good long-term investment. And really, who wants to go out and buy new bulbs all the time if there's a better option?
