My good friend of five years, a Canon PowerShot S500 (with a revolutionary 5 mp), has accompanied me to 5 different countries and countless states. It has faithfully documented my early adulthood, and I will be forever grateful.
The end has now come for my point-and-shoot pal. All pictures come out in orange-scale, with a lovely horizontal stripe pattern. In the good old days of film, cameras were immortal. These days, if you're lucky enough to avoid a mechanical problem that the company refuses to fix, computer-y parts eventually break down and it's time for the scrap heap -- or something.
How can I give my beloved camera, including batteries, charger, cables and memory cards (128 MB, wooo!), either a proper burial or a reincarnation? I'll figure it out and make a guide once I do.
