Steven's action: Your State/Province has more protected areas than last year
We need to be protecting more spaces of all sorts, and one of the most effective ways of doing that is to make sure that happens is to have everyone in a place where more areas are being protected each year.
Note: If you're already doing this action, take a look through each of the steps and make sure you haven't missed anything. If all's well, go ahead and check off all the boxes, then go start something new!
Step 1: Figure out how many protected spaces your state currently has

This isn't everything, but here's some spaces that are protected as wilderness in Oregon: http://www.roguerivertrips.info/locations/wilderness_areas.asp
The updates and comments below show how Steven is doing in completing his action. You can leave him comments, suggestions and encouragement using the box below.
If you don't have an account, you'll need one. We recognize that this is a pain, but we do it to keep spambots from flooding the site. If this really bothers, you, please let us know. We're listening!
Step 2: Find out if any new spaces are being planned for the next year

Use the same resources. If you can't figure it out from that, contact someone in your state's park service.
If there are more being planned, go ahead and move on to step 4. If there aren't, work to get some planned. First off, find out why there aren't any being planned. Next, contact friends, family, colleagues, and local politicians to try to get something done.
See if this space actually did get protected. And be sure to repeat this process every year. This one you may not be able to check off for a little while. Once the first new protected space opens since you've started this guide, you can check it off, but you should still keep up on this information.
