Guide: My Country has a carbon tax or cap

Steps to get it done:

Check out this guide, and get motivated
Having a means to price carbon is an important way to account for the cost climate change does to the environment and all of the services it provides us. This will help make clean energy technologies even more cost competitive and make it so you can save more money by using them.
Step 1: Learn the difference between a carbon tax and a cap and trade system
We highly suggest reading our Put a Price on Carbon section. It should have all of the introductory information you need.
Step 2: See if your country has one or is planning one
A quick Google search should give you an idea if there's been anything discussed about this. The trick is figuring out whether there is one, the idea of one, or a failed idea of one. If you're having trouble deciding, raise a flag or start a discussion on it. Skip to step 4 if it is.
Step 3: Get one to happen
Talk to your friends, neighbors, and local and national politicians. Make an issue of it. Write letters to the editor of your local paper. Write letters to politicians. Get petitions signed. Work together with people on this site to let your politicians know that this is something that needs to be done. You can even make a Team on this site to organize your efforts.
Step 4: Learn the details
Figure out when the system will go live, see what type of system it is and try to figure out how it works. Referring back to our Put a Price on Carbon section may help. If you are confused, raise a flag or talk about it in the discussion sections.
Step 5: When it's up and running, you're done
As soon as the first permit is handed out or first tax collected, you can finish this guide, so be sure to keep up to date with what's happening. Also, be sure to let us know something happened by submitting news stories.
