This one may not be for anyone, but if you really want to reduce your transportation impact and save some money in the process, not owning a car is a great way to go about it. If you don't have a car, you can still rely on walking, biking, public transit, carpooling, and car shares.
Steps:
1
Take a hard look at what you use your car for
2
Decide if not having a car is possible
3
If you don't have a car, look at how you get around
Do you catch rides with friends in their SUVs? Could your public transit system be cleaner? Do you use a car-share to get groceries every week still?
4
Figure out how to reduce that even more
You've done this guide, and that's very good, but that doesn't mean you're done necessarily with transportation. Take a look at some of the other guides and figure out how to reduce your impact even more. If you walk or bike everywhere, check out the Eat Less Meat and Go Vegetarian guides in the Using Energy section.
